I LOVE Pore Eraser

Just wanted everyone to know about this little beauty..

A while back I posted "my make up bag essentials", I listed a primer called Happy Light Primer from Bourjois. I raved about this primer and how good it was (which is still is) but I've found something better! My new favorite is Maybelline's Baby skin Instant Pore Eraser which you can find from Boots here for £7.99.

This primer is a lot different to Bourjoir's Happy Light Primer, as it's more waxy and less liquidy. I suppose more like a gel. Just before you apply foundation it's great to apply a little tiny blob on your T-zone and eyelids and leave to set. The product blends in really well, and you cannot see it on your skin. It instantly mattes and erases pores and makes skin appear flawless and smooth. Shiny skin is immediately gone. It doesn't feel greasy but when you first see it, you would think it would be. I haven't had it long but I have a feeling it won't last for months like all my other products, as it is quite a small little tube.

*I read some reviews on Boots and some people have mentioned that if you already have oily skin, then avoid this product or don't use as much as it just add to the oil.*

I definitely recommend that you try this product, it's certainly a new favorite and life saver!

I LOVE HI Impact Brows

Today I just wanted to write a quick post because I'm aware I need to try and catch up on my blogging a little bit, as I've started back at Uni again and I'ts hard trying to find time to sit down with my laptop. And as well with the wintery months creeping closer the daylight just seems to disappear within the blink of an eye and I don't always get a good photos to put on the blog because they're too dark!

Now I've got that cleared up, I just wanted to review this beautiful little product from HI Impact Brows. I did a little research and found them on Amazon to purchase for £17.99. Which in my opinion is a little steep for a palette with only 4 shades and an angled applicator brush. But the results may change your mind!

 As you've probably guessed already, it's a positive review! ;)

HI Impact Brows come in a beautifully sleek little black box. The palette itself is small enough to fit in your purse/handbag to carry around with you and contains 4 shades depending on your eyebrow hair colour.

All the colours are pretty much the same in the picture as they are in reality except the darkest colour looks black. The products are in my opinion, basically eye shadows, well that's how they appear anyway. You are also given an angled applicator brush to apply the powder based shadows to your brows. The shadows are completely matte, which is good as I can't imagine many people would want shimmery brows. They also have decent pigmentation and you can tell they are of good quality. Another handy little plus for this palette is that because they are basically shadows you could double up and use it as an emergency eye shadow palette, the brown shades are beautiful for neutral eye makeup.

Just to clarify I really do not like the 'sharpie full eyebrow look'. I actually cannot stand it. In my case, my brows are neither dark nor light, they're just meh. When I apply pencil I have to be careful not to apply to much pressure, or else I end up with my brows way too dark for my hair and face.

The beauty of this palette is, that because they are ultimately just shadows, they appear much more softer and natural which I prefer. I reckon if you applied pencil first, then finished the look with the shadow on top it would fill in any gaps and make your eyebrows stay on all night! As the powder would just set the brow in place.

Other than that I'm completely impressed, the brow shadows matched my shade perfectly, as I was given the option of a few natural shades I could mix to make the perfect one. However I do wonder, why there is no lighter shades for blonde brows or more ginger shades for ginger brows.

If you're a hardcore pencil brow lover, I hope I may have swayed you to try using a powder shadow instead!

Not the Highlight of my Day..

Beauty Product Testing! 

I was sent a product to review on behalf of ProductTesting.uk.com. The product they sent me was No7 Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlighter.

I've never used a highlighter in my life, maybe a shimmering cream for my cheekbones, but never a highlighter. So you can imagine my excitement when I received this product. 

I give credit to No7 for the size, which is a perfect for carrying it in your purse or handbag, providing you that option for 'touch up and go'. The highlighter has similarities to a lipstick, with it's handy size and swivel end.

When removing the lid off the highlighter you are greeted with a beautiful shiny, glossy balm stick. It looks truly radiant and shimmery. The texture feels creamy, soft and does give quite a bit of coverage. A little goes a long way.

Eager to try this product I swatched it on my hand first to show you the colour and texture.
On my hand, the left swatch is just a simple sweep of the product straight onto my hand. As you can see it is very creamy and has a bronze appearance. The swatch on the right shows the highlighter blended in, giving a more subtle radiant glow.

I applied it to my cheekbones and just above my brow, as pictured below.

 So as you can see, it does give a very subtle radiant glow (if you look closely) but it didn't exactly WOW me. I can't really complain though the description on the stick says "Create an instant radiant glow. Sweep gently onto cheek and brow bones to create a subtle shimmering finish." So it did exactly what it says on the tin, but I was hoping for a bit more pzazz! Mind you though, if you like this level of subtlety then this product would be perfect for you. I also reckon if you have a darker skin tone or like a strong bronze then this product would suit you well, as I'm not really a fan of the bronze look, as i'm quite pale. I will probably use this product when I go on holiday, as I feel the highlighter would compliment my tan.

I LOVE Whipped Cream

No silly, not whipped cream as in whipped cream. Whipped cream as in Milk_Shake's leave-in conditioning foam! One of their best sellers on their website and definitely a new must have in my hair care routine.

I love everything about this product. The packaging, the colours, the name, the smell, the texture and the results! They really exceeded my expectations and they've gained a new fan of Milk_Shake hair care.

I'll just be quickly reviewing the Whipped cream leave-in foam conditioning product. The description says "no rinse conditioning & protective creamy foam for all hair types". I love conditioning products, so winning this product on Twitter made me squeal with happiness. :)

Just to clarify - my hair is damaged to hell from bleaching, dying and heat stylers. My hair is naturally frizzy curly and I straighten most days.

The instructions says "shake well and hold upside down to dispense", the top of the bottle actually looks like a whipped cream can (intentional i'm guessing!). The foam is coloured white, super smooth and firm in texture, but at the same time remains light and fluffy which means it wont weigh your hair down with thick greasy products. The smell of this 'whipped cream' is absolutely delicious. I want to eat it. It smells like vanilla ice cream.
I think what is really unique about the whole milkshake range is that the products have milk proteins included. Hence the name of the brand, product name and smell!

"Apply to clean damp hair, then style", which is exactly what I did. In terms of styling, I decided to scrunch the foam as if it were curling mousse onto my hair. The product immediately separated my hair into more manageable non frizzy curls, which I left to naturally dry.

Usually when I let my hair dry naturally, the curls are frizzy and become matted at the back of my hair. After using this product I was actually able to run my fingers through (even the back) without getting into a tangled mess. My hair hasn't been this soft in a long time!

The product didn't feel heavy on my hair at all and completely non greasy. Which is always an issue I find with conditioning products, some products just leave your hair oily and then you have to wash it again.

It did feel like a little goes a long way, as I only applied a small blob in my hand it just kept expanding, more than I expected! So it's worth the money in the long run.

I've taken a picture of my hair right now, which is more frizzy than it was because I've been combing through with my fingers all day as it's so soft! but it's still pretty curly! Every time my hair moves you get a gorgeous waft of vanilla aromas. It's absolutely beautiful. - They should make a body butter ;)

I think I'll be buying another can of this tasty smelling product once this one runs out! Yum yum.

I LOVE Jileon Wellies

Just wanted to write a quick post today to give a shout out to brand that I have discovered on the interweb, who saved my butt this year when I went to my first festival.

So, I'm a big girl, big girls have chunkier legs, chunkier legs need wider wellies. Where are these wellies in the high street? It absolutely drives me up the wall. Do companies think we don't need boots and wellies? What about athletes with strong muscular legs and calves? Do they just not wear wellies?

I found out I was going to a festival this year and the one thing you need to take to a festival is wellies! I realized I hadn't worn a pair or wellies since I used to go camping when I was about 13. I remembered the struggle of wellies being tight back then. (I had pretty chunky muscular legs even then from swimming and cycling). The thought dawned on me that I knew I wasn't going to fit in the 'normal' calf sized wellies. I know there are some wider calf wellies out there, but they're not that much wider than the standard size, and when you have legs like mine, well you're screwed.

I spent ages, searching the web trying to find some wellies that extended or had more room, but none of them would have fitted. I spotted a brand called Jileon. I looked into them and found they had wide calf wellies up to 53cm for women and men! I couldn't believe it. Then it hit me, "ah I bet they don't have any nice styles and i'll be stuck with boring green". I couldn't have been more wrong. I fell in love with a pair of wellies that were pink and floral. What more could a girl want!

When I measured my calves they where 48cm, so I figured the 53cm would be plenty big enough. When I saw the price I was a bit hesitant, as they are pricey at £54.99 and £49.99 on their Amazon (+PP). But trust me when I say they are worth it. The delivery was super quick and you could track the wellies every movement with their delivery tracking feature. I imagine the cost is due to the fantastic quality, design and all the extra materials being fitted and fastened together. They will definitely last you a long time, and I very much doubt i'll be needing another pair to replace them any time soon.

As you can see in the picture above, the expandable bit is really, well, expandable. When you unbuckle the strap the material you see gathered together expands hugely. You will be surprised when you take them out of the box and see how wide they actually are!

The wellies are fashionable, comfortable and waterproof (obviously). I wore them for 3 days straight at a festival in which it had torrential rain and mud baths. Surprise surprise. The wellies survived both the rain and the mud, with no leakages, no sliding in the mud and no tears in the material.

The only downside is the buckles on my pair, and I think the company has recently solved this problem with 'clip-shut buckles'. Because the material is so smooth the buckle sometimes loosens and unravels which is kind of annoying, as you have to keep tightening them up.

As an addition, you can also purchase fleecy welly socks to accompany the wellies. I purchased bright pink ones and wore them at night to keep my toes warm. These socks were £7.99 on Amazon.

They also have some gorgeous polka dot ones which I have my eye on for my next purchase! ;)
So if you're a big girl (or guy) I really do recommend visiting their site and measuring up your calves. You will be surprised! This is the first time in a long time I've been able to wear wellies and there's no going back now!

I LOVE SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS

I'm a huge fan of curly hair, so when I discovered SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS on Twitter, I knew I had to get them immediately. I'd seen mixed reviews (mostly good) boasting big bouncy curls and wanted to see what results I'd achieve with my own hair.

SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS are rollers, get this, that you can SLEEP in. Just to clear up any confusion ;). They are your typical Velcro rollers but they have a cushioned foamy inside that you can squish down but will always retain they're original shape. The idea being that when you put your pretty little head to sleep, the rollers will squish down making it a more comfortable experience. The Velcro outer layer is not attached to the foamy middle allowing a grip to be placed in this gap to secure the roller in place.

The whole packaging and quality of the products were fantastic. I thought the glitter would be on both sides of the roller but i'm not going to loose sleep over it. 

So before I explain how my first SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS experience was...

I'd just like to state that my hair has been dyed, bleached, damaged and frazzled since I was 15, i'm now 20 and it's damaged to hell. It's slowly recovering from my last blonde adventure. My hair is naturally curly, but I straighten it most days. If I leave my hair to naturally dry it turns into some kind of frizzy curly tumbleweed that is un-brush-able. I'm mentioning my hair quality because I've read a few reviews from people explaining about their hair being so dead that the rollers didn't do anything to their hair.

Now that's out the way, here we go! 

I began by starting with freshly washed hair. Like really wet. Like I-just-got-out-the-shower-WET. I brushed my hair through to de-tangle any knots and then I began attempting to put in my SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS. I'm not the type of person that owns rollers so this was my first set in a long time.

The whole process of applying the rollers took about 20-30 mins and I fixed all of the rollers in place with grips - 2 for each roller to ensure a secure hold. I used no products just freshly washed wet hair. I left the rollers in from about 7pm till about 11am. Giving the SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS a good 16 hours to do something.

Now to put them to the real test. The question on everybody's minds is, 'where they comfortable to sleep in?'

The first time I slept in them, I'm not going to lie, I think it took me until 2am to finally fall asleep. I just couldn't get comfortable at all, especially with the Velcro itching my ears and neck all night. I couldn't sleep on my side, I had to stay on my back. The rollers just didn't squish as much as I'd of hoped them to. HOWEVER, I've tried these rollers at least 3 more times since then. Each time you find your own way of putting them in faster and in places where you know you'll feel comfortable when you sleep. I think it was just shock from sleeping with something around my head that made it difficult to sleep the first time. Now i'm used to it and wear them often! Don't give up first time round! GET YO MONIES WORTH GURLLLL! *snaps fingers*

The Results

I took these photos from the first time I used SLEEP-IN-ROLLERS... 

Now, I don't know about you but I was pretty impressed, my naturally curly hair is just frizzy curls, where these are just lovely wavy curly locks. I felt like I'd just had a professional Blow Dry. As I explained earlier I used no products and only styled my fringe with heat! So in my opinion, they work! I recommend them to people who are thinking of giving them a try. I do think that because my hair is kind of naturally curly this helped with the end result. I did struggle taking the rollers out, but I was careful to twist my finger around the lock of hair to secure the curl. If you just pull the roller out and don't twist it round your finger, you run the risk of the curl falling out and going frizzy. If you have naturally straight hair perhaps the results might be more of a wave? Before heading outside I lightly misted my hair with hairspray to seal the look!
